Consult the FAQ section for more information >>>

Still have a question?
1. What is the commitment to EuroPolytech SkillCamp like?

SkillCamp courses are short and intensive. A typical 12-week course requires 12–15 hours per week of live classes, workshops, and independent study. Learners are expected to attend all sessions, participate actively, and complete short assignments or projects. A positive mindset and a curiosity to learn is key to successfully complete our Skills Bootcamps.

It's important to note that you're expected to spend a number of hours outside of teaching on independent study to support your learning. Your lecturers/tutor will support you with reading activities to do during your independent study.

2. What does a 'level' Certificate or Diploma mean?

Most qualifications have a difficulty level. The higher the level, the more difficult the qualification is. Qualifications at the same level sometimes cover different amounts of the same subject. For example, a Level 3 qualification in the UK education system is equivalent to completing secondary school at A-level standard. It provides learners with the foundational knowledge, practical skills, and academic grounding needed to progress to higher-level study (Level 4 Diplomas or university entry) or to begin a career pathway.

  • A Level 3 Certificate usually covers a smaller number of modules and is shorter in duration.

  • A Level 3 Diploma is broader, covering more units in greater depth, and carries more credits.

EuroPolytech’s SkillCamp short courses are aligned with UK level descriptor, ensuring learners gain recognised, transferable skills that are part of the UK’s Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and comparable within the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

Visit the UK government link to better understand what different UK qualification mean.

    16. Are the courses recognised internationally?

Yes. SkillCamp courses are aligned with OTHM qualifications regulated by Ofqual (UK). Ofqual-regulated qualifications are referenced to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), which supports level comparability across European countries. Many universities and employers recognise these awards internationally; however, final recognition is always at the discretion of the receiving institution or national authority. Where needed, EuroPolytech can guide learners to obtain a UK ENIC / ENIC-NARIC comparability statement to support recognition.

    17. Can I study SkillCamp fully online?

Yes. Most SkillCamp courses are available fully online, giving international students the flexibility to join without travelling. Selected courses also offer optional on-campus workshops in Porto, Portugal.

    18. How can non-EU students complete their OTHM qualification if their on-campus study is limited to 12 weeks?

Non-EU students who enter Portugal on a short-stay visa (up to 12 weeks) can complete their OTHM qualification through a blended study model.

During the on-campus period (up to 12 weeks), learners complete an intensive study phase at EuroPolytech, which may include:

    • Induction and academic skills preparation

    • Tutor-led teaching sessions and workshops

    • Work on selected units and assessments

    • Assignment planning and feedback

After the 12-week on-campus period has elapsed, learners continue and complete the remaining parts of their qualification remotely, through:

    • Online learning and tutor support

    • Submission of assignments via the virtual learning environment

    • Ongoing academic guidance and feedback

The final qualification is awarded only after all required units and assessments are successfully completed and externally verified by OTHM, in line with UK regulatory requirements.

    ⚠️Important to note:

    • The on-campus phase forms part of the qualification, but full completion may take longer than 12 weeks.

    • Certification is issued after full academic completion, not at the end of the on-campus period.

    • This blended model is compliant with OTHM delivery guidelines and designed to support international learners with short-stay visa limitations.

If you are unsure whether this model is suitable for your situation, our admissions team will be happy to provide personalised guidance.

    19. How does the up to 12-week SkillCamp fit in?

The 12-week SkillCamp functions as an intensive academic and skills foundation phase. During this period, students are:

    • Introduced to the core units and key concepts of the qualification

    • Guided through lectures, interactive workshops, and applied projects

    • Trained on assignment expectations, academic writing, and assessment criteria

    • Supported to build the confidence and structure needed to progress independently

By the end of the 12 weeks, students are fully on track: they understand the subject content, the assessment requirements, and the standards expected by a UK awarding body, placing them in a strong position to successfully complete their assignments.

After the on-campus SkillCamp phase, students have the option to:

    • Continue and complete the remaining requirements online, self-paced

    • Receive ongoing academic guidance from a EuroPolytech tutor

    • Submit assignments gradually, without the pressure of a fixed on-site timetable

This blended approach allows students to benefit from face-to-face instruction and cultural immersion in Portugal, while retaining the flexibility to complete their qualification remotely.
